Abstract:

Photograph album, the first of a seven-volume series compiled by an unknown amateur photographer, with snapshots documenting tree plantings, other trees and wildlife of California and the Western U.S. and, more extensively, the Golden Gate International Exposition held on Treasure Island, San Francisco. Locations of trees and animals depicted include California, Nevada and Arizona. G.G.I.E. subjects include exposition grounds, buildings, exhibits and events. Many photographs depict nude female models who posed for photographs in the "Studio Parisienne" and Greenwich Village "Life Class" attractions of the exposition. Other locations on Treasure Island are also depicted. Also includes typescript index of subjects found in the seven-volume series.
